Meet the Maker

Born in Cape Town, South Africa, and raised in the vibrant city of New Orleans, Louisiana, my work as a ceramic artist is a fusion of two rich and diverse cultures. My African roots deeply influence my designs, from the organic textures and earthy tones reminiscent of Cape Town’s landscapes to patterns inspired by the vibrant artistry and storytelling traditions of the country. The rhythm and warmth of these influences blend with the soulful spirit of New Orleans, creating pieces that honor both places I call home.

I discovered ceramics over a decade ago and have been continually learning and refining my craft ever since. Guided by the mentorship of Rachel Steiner, my first teacher and dear friend, whose passion and skill deeply inspired me, I focus on creating timeless, functional pieces that celebrate the connection between form, function, and the rituals of daily life. My love for food, and its universal power to bring people together, drives me to design ceramics that enhance the experience of sharing meals and creating memories. With the unwavering support of my family and friends, I have turned my love for ceramics into a journey of creativity, connection, and honoring my roots.
